Here's the complete contribution:

Today you use email mostly for work.

Gmail is introducing new ways to filter the emails, the default categories are primary, social and promotions.

Honestly, if your email doesn’t reach the primary category, there’s a very high chance I won’t read it.

In the future, emails will become even more relevant, less visible and part of our everyday lives. Short, device-friendly and carefully organized messages will appear on the right devices.

Emails will look more like short messages, e.g. you will be able to get the needed items through your fridge or closet. Work-related subjects will be read by your car on the daily commute to work.

You’ll be able to respond to these emails immediately by voice commands. E.g., mark the important ones that you want to read once at work. In other words, there will be fewer emails the way we know today but they will definitely transform and stay with us.

The emails will become even more informative and useful to the readers so both marketers and email providers will be able to meet in the middle.
